Bārbele Elementary School

In 2018, Bārbele Boys' Elementary School started its work - the only boys' school in Latvia, where education is based on Montessori pedagogical principles, with fathers’ presence at least for one day in a week. The school has two special interest directions. First, it’s aviation, where in creative workshops everyone can create their own airplane model, sit in an old airplane, or try themselves as a pilot in an airplane simulator, as well as get an insight into the history of Latvian aviators. Second, it’s ornithology - when students go bird watching and hiking in the nature, taking part in an educational lectures and birdcage creative workshops.
The surroundings of the school are freely accessible, it is also possible to explore and get in the AN-2 airplane (right next to the building), or have a picnic at the rest area.

• Guided excursion (group of 30 – 40 people) through the Bārbele Elementary school
• Aircraft simulator
• Exploring the local history center of Bārbele Parish (located in the premises of school)
• During the summer (or only on holidays) – overnight accommodation (suitable for 30 persons) and two swimming areas
• Catering (by prior arrangement!)
• Wedding venue in the chapel (up to 50 pers.)
