Historical costume exposition “Mazā muiža”

Beneath the roof of an old barn, where time seems to stand still and fabrics whisper stories of the past, lies the historical costume gallery “Mazā muiža” (The Little Manor). Here, history is not merely something to observe – it can be felt at every step, revealing the elegance, refinement and rhythm of life in bygone eras. It is a place where time slows down and fashion unveils its secrets. At “Mazā muiža”, the elegance of the 18th and 19th centuries comes to life. Historical fashion can not only be admired here, but also tried on, experienced and captured in a memorable moment connecting the past with the present.

“Mazā muiža” is the creative residence of the Historical Reconstruction Studio “Rokoko” Association. The gallery's exhibition features a collection of historically accurate replica costumes and accessories created over 15 years by the members of the studio themselves. A visit to the gallery is enriched by captivating stories about the transformations of fashion through the centuries, the subtle details of everyday life, etiquette and manners – allowing visitors not only to discover history, but truly experience it. “Mazā muiža” also invites visitors to experience history firsthand – by trying on specially created historical costumes, discovering the unique “comfort” of the 18th century and capturing themselves in digital portraits.
