Aleksandra Owczarek – Baroque violin
Klaudia Łoboda – harpsichord
In the music of Baroque genius Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber, the sacred and the secular do not exist as opposites—they constantly interact, revealing the diversity of human emotions, faith, and life.
The Polish duo Fantastica Ensemble’s program “Biber. Sacrum / Profanum,” combines Biber’s famous Rosary (Mystery) Sonatas with sonatas from the collection *Sonatae, Violino solo*, creating a vivid musical journey between mystical contemplation and the joyful, folk-dance-inspired world of the Baroque. Each piece reveals a different facet of Biber’s personality—at times deeply spiritual and meditative, at others virtuosic, bold, and surprisingly expressive.
Fantastica Ensemble is one of the most outstanding early music ensembles of the new generation in Poland. Its interpretations are distinguished by emotional intensity, contrasts, and a contemporary perspective on the historical repertoire. The ensemble has won a special prize at the H. I. F. Biber International Competition, first place at the KraCamera Chamber Music Competition, and a special prize for the most creative interpretation at the Maurizio Pratola International Early Music Competition. Their debut album, *Biber. Sacrum / Profanum" was released by the record label Ars Sonora.
