On 1 August at 8:00 PM, the courtyard of the Bauska Culture Centre invites audiences to experience the concert programme "Duets and Ziedonis."
"Duets and Ziedonis" is a story about Imants Ziedonis—his poetry, epiphanies, thoughts, and unique vision of the world. The programme features actor Kaspars Znotiņš, whose readings of Imants Ziedonis' poetry and epiphanies create a dialogue with composer, guitarist, and singer-songwriter Ēriks Upenieks.
The programme originated in May 2023, when, marking the 90th anniversary of Imants Ziedonis' birth, Kaspars Znotiņš was invited to the poet's hometown of Lapmežciems. There, together with Ēriks Upenieks, they gave the first performance of the programme that later became known as "Duets and Ziedonis." Since then, the two artists have presented the programme at some of Latvia's most beautiful cultural venues.
The courtyard opens one hour before the start of the event.
