During the guided tour of the exhibition “The Allure of Flowers,” Dzintra Miķelsone, curator and expert on the museum’s collection, and historian Gundega Plūduma will introduce visitors to the silent companions of flowers—vases.

In the 18th century, vases not only allowed magnificent floral arrangements to shine, but also became an integral part of interior decoration in their own right. Their expressive shapes, colors, and ornamentation added a unique touch to interiors.

During the tour, alongside the diverse collection of floral vessels, we’ll also explore special vases designed for small-flowered blooms, tulips, and even hyacinths. We’ll find out what “flower girls” and potpourri vases are—vases that weren’t actually intended for cut flowers at all.

To participate in the tour, you must purchase an exhibition admission ticket.
