During the peony bloom, we invite you to visit the flower exhibition at Mežotne Castle, dedicated to the memory of the outstanding peony collector Andris Berkinas (1949-2025).
The exhibition will feature peony varieties from the collection created during the collector's lifetime. It includes both historical and rare varieties that reflect Andris Berkinas' long-standing passion for peony cultivation and diversity.
This exhibition is designed as a tribute to the collector's lifelong work. Thanks to the care of Andris Berkinas' wife, the collection has been preserved, and its flowers can be viewed at Mežotne Castle.
Visitors are invited to take their time to explore both parts of the exhibition. From June 5 to 7, 38 peony varieties will be on display, which will allow you to appreciate the diversity of these flowers and the result of the collector's many years of work. Meanwhile, from June 19 to 21, the second part of the exhibition will feature later-blooming peony varieties.
The exhibition can be viewed during Mežotne Castle opening hours with a castle tour ticket.
