On 30 May, Bauska Municipality will become one of the main venues of the XXVI Latvian Children and Youth Folk Dance Festival “Latvju bērni danci veda”, welcoming nearly 3,650 dancers from across Latvia. The second festival day will take place on 6 June in Valka.
Throughout the day, Bauska will transform into a vibrant dance city with performances in several locations.
From 11:00 to 15:30, street concerts will take place at:
- Bauska Town Hall Square
- Square near the Bauska Municipality building
- Karpa Garden
At 16:30, participants will join a festive parade along Brīvības Boulevard, Pilskalna Street and to the Bauska City Stadium.
The festival’s main event – the grand closing concert – will begin at 17:00 at Bauska City Stadium, featuring 1,635 dancers from several Latvian regions.
The festival will conclude with a participants’ dance evening from 19:00 to 21:00 at the stadium.
