“Under the Branches of the Golden Oak. Experience the Royal Spirit of Rundāle”
With this motto, the Festival of Bauska County will take place this summer in the territory of the Rundāle administration, inviting visitors to travel through time and discover not only Rundāle Palace, but also lesser-known historical sites.
The main symbol of the festival will be the crown or wreath — a sign of royalty and splendour. The luxurious crown “Zemgale”, created by artist Brigita Stroda, will travel to every festival venue, symbolically weaving all events into one magnificent wreath.
30 May – The celebrations will begin at the open-air amphitheatre of the Rundāle Multifunctional Centre, decorated with the unique sundial “Rundāle Time”. During the day, visitors can enjoy the Latvian Winemakers’ Festival, performances by amateur groups, and a festive concert by Aija Vītoliņa.
31 May – The adventures of the Bērstele Manor Cat will lead visitors into colourful experiences together with amateur groups from Bauska County and guest performers. There will be treats, attractions, and surprises.
4 June – In the territory of Kaucminde Manor, visitors will enjoy a theatrical manor story, a concert, and a culinary show.
5 June – At Svitene Palace, visitors will be welcomed with a guided tour, a film about the manor’s history, an exhibition of paintings by Liena Ivonna Šervinska, and an opportunity to view historical costumes. A special historical performance, “KISSA”, will also take place.
6 June – The festival will conclude on both sides of the Lielupe River, connected by the Bridge of Time from the ancient Semigallians to the pearl of Classicism — Mežotne Palace. Events will take place at Mežotne Hillfort, the cultural space Mežotne Church, in the park of Mežotne Palace, and near Pilsrundāle Secondary School. Performances will include Normunds Rutulis together with the children’s vocal group Dzeguzīte, Melo-M, Dināra Rudāne, and Labvēlīgais Tips. A market for home-made products and crafts will take place during the festival. And, of course, the festival fireworks!
