From May 14 to June 14, 2026, the Igo Music and Art Centre “Ceplis” will host the photo exhibition “Warmth”, dedicated to the profession of stove potter and mason. The author of the exhibition, himself a second-generation stove craftsman, visually explores the various stages of tiled stove creation through his own experience – from the making of stove tiles in the kiln to the finished stove.
The exhibition “Warmth” was first presented to the public in 2017 at the Latvian Ethnographic Open-Air Museum in an original format – black-and-white photographs mounted on white glazed stove tiles.
This time, the collection, which visually reflects various processes related to stoves and heating, is complemented with colour photographic prints, placing a special emphasis on the creation process and visual aesthetics of tiled stoves.
