On 21st of March at 17:00, the Īslīce Culture House will host the 3rd International Folklore Festival “Danči leišmalē” (Folk Dances on the Lithuanian Border), bringing together children and young people from Latvia and Lithuania to sing and dance their nations’ traditional folklore together.

The aim of the festival is to strengthen Latvian and Lithuanian folklore traditions, encourage cooperation among young people, and strengthen cultural ties between the two countries, creating a true folklore celebration atmosphere in the border region.

Participating dance and folklore groups:

  • “Suvartukas” (Plungė, Lithuania)
  • “Šermukšnėlė” (Šiauliai, Lithuania)
  • “Liuoksinis” (Šiauliai, Lithuania)
  • “Ozolēni” (Jaunmārupe, Latvia)
  • “Mēmelīte” (Bauska, Latvia)
  • Folklore group “Tarkšķi” (Iecava, Latvia)

Festival participants will also have the opportunity to visit the Bauska exhibition of the Riga Motor Museum, while the evening will conclude with joint traditional dances, creating a lively and authentic folklore celebration atmosphere.
