Latvian Spring Equinox at Everti
Let us welcome the Latvian Spring Equinox in the spirit of Everti.
We will gather shortly before sunrise to leave behind everything old, unnecessary, and worn out in the “old fire.” Please bring burnable natural items (wreaths, small brooms, amulets, etc.) that you wish to give to the fire.
Together we will greet the new Sun. Astrologers say that the Sun year begins when the Sun enters Aries. This year, the first Sun day is March 21 at 06:23. We will welcome the rising Sun, allow ourselves to be filled with its morning light, and draw strength for the entire Sun year ahead.
Before sunrise, we will symbolically burn the emotional and mental remnants of winter. Honoring ancient traditions, we will rinse our mouths with fresh morning water, swing, roll painted eggs, and take part in folk games to invite energy, color, and vitality into the new year.
We will enjoy a shared meal at a communal table — laughter, conversations, and togetherness, which is life itself.
The spark of life will be strengthened by the Lielā diena bonfire.
No prior registration required.
Please bring painted eggs, a yellow candle, and food to share at the common table.
Participation is by monetary donation to support the homestead.
Dress warmly and wear shoes suitable for walking in a meadow, as we will be outdoors greeting the Sun.
The event is planned to last until around 1:00 PM.
