On February 7, 2026, the opening event of the hiking series “Latvian Challenge” route “Vecumnieku Silavas” will take place in Vecumnieki area.
As part of the event, participants will have the opportunity to embark on a winter adventure through the forests surrounding Vecumnieki, breathe in fresh forest air, enjoy the peaceful landscapes of the silva, and pause for a moment from everyday routines to experience the calm that only nature can provide.
The forests of Vecumnieki are rich in steep dunes, scenic woodland views, and mysterious roads and trails. If weather conditions allow and the ground is covered with snow, the route will transform into a true winter fairytale.
The hike is suitable for everyone, offering three routes of different lengths, allowing participants to choose the pace and challenge best suited to them. Each route includes small challenges, providing new experiences both for less experienced hikers and for more seasoned walkers, who will be able to enjoy the harmony between the beauty of nature, the scenic surroundings, and the silence of dense forest areas.
Along all routes, the organizing team will be present, ensuring entertaining and experience-enriching activities.
