September is approaching, and with it the traditional Harvest Festival at Ausekļu Mill. To celebrate Latvian work ethic and pass it on to future generations, autumn work will take place on the farmstead on September 6, starting at 11 a.m.
Ancient tools will clatter, whir and sparkle in the bend of the Iecava River, steam engines will whistle, water mills will rumble, and craftsmen will demonstrate their skills. Sunflowers and corn will bloom and seeds will sprout in the demonstration field. Golden oat stalks await the reapers and sowers, while ripe potatoes await the harvesters.
