The "Early Music Festival" will once again conclude with Antonio Vivaldi's violin concerto cycle "The Seasons" - one of the most popular classical music opuses, which has experienced countless recordings and interpretations around the world. The four violin concertos included in the cycle were first published in 1725 in a collection entitled "The Competition of Harmony and Ingenuity". And indeed - this music lacks neither harmony nor imagination, as Vivaldi sincerely enjoyed drawing scenes from nature and everyday life and also recording their verbal interpretation in the score. The temperament and richness of colors encoded in the composition unleash the imagination of the performers, but brilliant playing technique and lively musicality are also required. This time, the bright violinist Daishin Kashimoto will play with Sinfonietta Rīga to prove it! Born in London and raised in Tokyo, educated at the renowned Juilliard School in New York and studying in Lübeck and Freiburg, this talented soloist has also been known as the concertmaster of the legendary Berlin Philharmonic since 2009. The virtuoso artist has earned special attention for his ability to find subtle nuances in even the most seemingly well-known scores and illuminate unprecedented emotional depths in them.
In the opening act of the concert, conductor Andris Veismanis, who is seasoned in the repertoire of early and baroque music, together with the experienced chamber orchestra, will illuminate other musical gems from the first half of the 18th century. Along with the French Baroque representative Jean-Philippe Rameau's suite from the allegorical tragedy "Zoroastrus", fragments from the acclaimed collection Tafelmusik by German master Georg Philipp Telemann and the iconic Concerti Grossi by his compatriot George Frideric Handel will also be heard.
