7. June, 2025
On Saturday, June 7, the Rundāle Palace Museum invites you to "Date in the Garden", thus participating in an international campaign that has been taking place in France since 2003 and is also becoming a popular tradition in other European countries.
This year's theme "Garden Stones" invites you to pay attention to stones in the landscape, especially in gardens and parks. Next to the variability and colorfulness of the plant and animal kingdom, stones often remain less noticeable, but they play a significant role in both natural and man-made environments.
From 11:00 to 14:00, you will be able to be creative in the Rundāle Palace Garden – in the Bosquet of Flowering Trees – under the guidance of art teacher Aija Ušerovska. She will encourage you to observe the natural beauty of stones and complement them with painting.
At 2:00 p.m., a guided tour “Stones in the Landscape of Rundāle Palace” will begin, led by museum specialists, in which we will focus on the diversity of stones and their use near the palace, including in the French Garden. The meeting point is at the Rundāle Palace stable building, where the cashier is located.
Adults and children are welcome to the creative workshop and tour!
To participate in one or both activities (optional), you must purchase a ticket for entry to the French Garden.
