The exhibition offers an insight into the creative process of two artists – a daughter and a father. Painter Ilona Abiļeva focuses on the theme of masculine and feminine energy in her works. One of her favorite motifs is peonies, whose unique color combinations the artist has admired and studied for almost ten years. In Eastern philosophy, peonies are considered unique and energetically powerful flowers, symbolizing the unity of purity and sincerity. In turn, the symbol of masculine energy in Ilona’s paintings is the bull – the artist has been working with this image for more than fifteen years. Exploring the wild and masculine nature of the animal, the dynamism of energy and power, the monumentality of power and the body, sexuality and self-confidence, the vision of the bull image leads to a game with formats, materials and the use of mixed techniques.

Andris Abiļevs' sculptures reflect childhood and contemporary impressions and reflections. He works with both traditional materials – clay and wood – and uses modern three-dimensional technologies. His works are characterized by graphic and expressive plasticity, which harmoniously harmonizes with the possibilities and character of the chosen materials.
