12. September, 2024
We are happy to announce that the participants of the next creative residency at Bauska Castle are the ancient music ensemble THE BANSHIES from Paris.
According to Irish mythology, the word 'banshee' means witch and messenger from another world. The ensemble was created as a safe environment that allows free experimentation and search for new paths. Members learn and grow by sharing their passions, such as Celtic music, research, literature, art, and different cultures and musical tastes. Each ensemble's program is based on a story that is told during the concert. It is created as a route - alternating traditional baroque pieces and folk music melodies with literature and new works created especially for the ensemble.
Ensemble The Banshies:
Yaore Talibart - violin
Roxana Rastegar - violin
Suzanne Wolff - cello
Public rehearsal of the LET THEY CHARMS concert at Bauska PCastle on 12th of September, at 7:00 p.m.

The creative residency is held in cooperation with the Riga Ancient Music Center and its goal is the Riga Historical Music and Dance Festival 2024. For information about the festival, please see the website https://earlymusic.lv/.
