Exhibition "Horses in the Duchy of Courland and Semigallia"

In the premises of the first floor of the museum, until February next year, the "Horses in the Duchy of Courland and Semigallia" can be viewed free of charge.

In the spatial stations included in the exhibition, you can learn interesting facts about stables and mares, how many employees worked in the duke's large stables in Jelgava, what the stables were like in the time of dukes Ernst Johan and Peter, what breed of horses the duke owned, as well as many other no less interesting facts.

On 3rd of August, Rundāle Palace invites you to a free open tour, which will be led by Laura Lūse, director of the Rundāle Palace Museum and curator of the exhibition. The participants of the tour will have a unique opportunity, under the guidance of the museum director, not only to get to know the exhibition, but also to go together to the inner courtyard of the barn on the west side of the Rundāle Palace stable complex, where a unique testimony of the first construction period of the stables' construction is revealed.
