The Latvian festival of waiting for spring, which marks the end of winter and the approach of spring. At the event, you can get to know the traditions of Meteņi, there is a mask parade, and a market.
Annual Meteņi celebrations in Vecumnieki:
at 15:00 Mascot parade (Starts from the Old People's House)
at 15:30 Meteņi traditional activities on the shore of New Lake.
As every year, singing together with folklore ensembles, various activities such as reading upside down, pushing boards, jumping rope, etc.,
There will be an opportunity to taste the delicious porridge of Vecmuiža, to roll a fireball and to enjoy Meteņi's mizzen, or in modern language - candy case.
