For the seventh year, from May 1 to August 30, the Bauska County in Latvia and the municipalities of Birži, Pasvale, Pakruoja and Joniškis District in Lithuania are organizing a joint tourism travel campaign "Discover neighbors in Zemgale!". The aim of the travel campaign is to promote the development of tourism in the Latvian-Lithuanian border region by creating a joint tourist route and popularizing tourist attractions and enterprises.
In travel campaign can participate all Latvia and Lithuania inhabitants who has reached 7 years, together with their family and friends. All of the objects, which are included in the campaign, are available at any time of the day, there is no entrance fee! During the campaign, the participants must visit 16 objects, which are included in the campaign brochure, then complete the task and take a selfie with at the object. Therefore, participant will get a stamp in the campaign brochure - at Bauska, Vecumnieki, Birži, Pasvale, Pakroja or Joniški Tourism Information Centers by presenting the task answers and photos (on your phone or camera) showing the campaign participant and the campaign object! Each participant of the campaign will receive a small souvenir - a postcard (after receiving the stamp) about the completed tasks in the specific municipality.
By submitting the stamped travel campaign brochure to Bauska, Vecumnieki, Birži, Pakruoja, Pasvale or Joniškis Tourism Information Centers until September 1st, travel campaign participant will be able to claim the main prize – one of the 8 bicycles. The closing event with the presentation of gifts, awarding to the winners will be organized on September 9, 2023 in Skaistkalne (Latvia).
