5. April, 2023 till 28. May, 2023
From April 5 to May 28, 2023, the exhibition "Various Textiles" of the textile artists Zane Lūse and Ingrīda Sūna will be on display in Bauska Museum.
A meeting with the artists and a creative workshop will take place on May 28 from 12:00 to 14:00
The exhibition presents the creative work of female artists, which is rooted in Latvian folk art ornaments and textile making techniques.
The first impression of Zane Lūse's textiles is a similarity with Latvian carpets and rag rugs, but instead of rags, paper is used, even twisted old newspapers, creating a delicate tonality and color combination.
Ingrīda Sūna creates openwork, lace-like weaves and twists from linen and wool cords, also using more modern materials (plastic). The compositions are simple and linear, in which you can see the similarities with the Latvian scenes or developments in nature.
About the artists: Zane Lūse and Ingrīda Sūna graduated from the Department of Textile Art of the Latvian Academy of Arts under the guidance of professor Rūdolfs Heimrāts. The artists are active members of the Latvian Textile Art Association, and also participate in the association's exhibitions in Latvia and abroad.
During the events, visitors can be photographed and filmed, photos and video material can be published.
