Local history center "Novadnieki"

Skaistkalne parish local history center “Novadnieki” was established to honor the memory of the local history researcher Pēteris Lukašēvics. It exhibits the artefacts and documents on the history of Skaistkalne district, gathered by P. Lukašēvics – Skaistkalne village history chronicles, books, evidence of the manor’s lifetime, church archive materials, household tool and photo collections.
In the local history center’s informative stand visitors are also welcome to explore the most impressive geological process around the area – karst – reading interesting facts and learning the reason of karst forming. Guided tours are available to see the karst process in reality – by going to Skaistkalne karst sinkholes nature trail.
