Brukna Manor

The builders and owners of the Brukna manor until 1920 were an old family of German aristocrats - the Korfi barons. They owned several manors in Zemgale and Kurzeme, including Skaistkalne (Šenberg) manor.

The ensemble of the Brukna manor was built in the middle of the 18th century, but the current form of the manor is a reconstruction in the neoclassical style, which was carried out in the 19th century. Only in Brukna manor you can see the original version of a European garden - the Renaissance Garden. There are no flowers or flowering bushes in it, because cabbages, beets, carrots and herbs grow in the boskets, enclosed by low hedges. Such gardens were created by monks in the closed courtyards of European monasteries in the 15th-16th centuries. The Brukna Renaissance garden is separated from other functional areas by a collection of perennial plants. The special highlights of the garden are the sculptures made by the young sculptor Sandis Aišpuris, which are placed around the newly built church.

The public interior of Brukna Manor is designed with the help of volunteer - art students and other enthusiasts. It is a popular gathering place for artists. Animals are not allowed in the area!
