Aprašymas
Freedom Monument is located in Iecava Manor park, close to the river Iecava. Promoter of the idea of the monument is Jānis Lūsis - pastor of the Iecava-Lambārte parishes and participant in the Latvian War of Independence. During the Soviet occupation, the monument was blown up, but was not destroyed, and was later restored in 1988.
In 2018, the monument was included in the list of State protected cultural monuments. Nowadays, people gather every year at the Freedom Monument for events dedicated to Lāčplēsis Day, but on June 14, commemorating the victims of the communist genocide, a path of flowers is made right in front the monument.
Opposite to the Freedom Monument, the bridge across the river Iecava is located, next to which the open-air exhibition of paintings can be viewed.
